It is based on an undulatory movement of stroke which breaks up into two phases:
Phase 1 :
The monofin swimmer extends arms forward, locking hands together, blocking the head between the biceps.
The undulating movement starts in the shoulders, with maximum amplitude towards the hips, the legs almost don't bend to transfer the movement to the Monofin.
Le mouvement se poursuit par l’ondulation du corps en position de recherche hydrodynamique constante.
The movement continues with the undulation of the body
Phase 2 :
The legs continue to push the swimmer whilst the hands act as a plane to guide the swimmer back to the surface.
The swimmer reaches the horizontal position as they surface.
